The 2020 IATA Lithium Battery Guidance Document is now available for download.
Lithium batteries are a commonly used source of energy to power a wide variety of consumer goods, ranging from mobile phones, tablets, laptops, power banks, cars and toys.
Lithium batteries are classified as dangerous goods due to the heat and fire risks involved with this type of batteries. They can pose a safety risk if not packed and documented in accordance with the transport regulations for air.
