Dangerous Goods by Air – IATA DGR Process Flow

When processing a dangerous goods shipment for airfreight there are a few steps that need to be taken. The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR) has been set up in such a manner that the sections are sequenced in logical order of the steps to be followed in processing your dangerous goods shipments.

There tend to be certain sections that are forgotten to take into account when processing a dangerous goods shipment for air. Special Provisions, State Variations and Operator Variations are some of those sections that may be forgotten to consult, resulting in dangerous goods rejections.

We have developed below flowchart to assist with ensuring that all sections are consulted during the processing of dangerous goods shipments via air.

We endeavour to keep the information current, however please note that due to the ever-changing nature of the regulations there may be variances. Also note that it is your responsibility to ensure that the IATA DGR is followed for your dangerous goods shipments.
